Policy

Our policies are for the safety of all of our guest

Spay/Neuter

Dogs over 7 months old must be spayed or neutered for both daycare and boarding. Even though your unaltered dog may be perfectly well mannered, the other dogs become edgy when there is an unaltered, sexually mature dog on the premises. This tends to cause behaviour issues in the whole group.

Vaccines:

We require that dogs be up to date with immunization for rabies, distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvovirus and Bordetella.

We are happy to call your veterinarian to get the expiry dates, however we cannot confirm a booking until immunization is logged.

Pet Health/Behaviour and Safety:

We want to ensure that our facility is safe for all of our guests. For this reason we reserve the right to refuse service to any pet for any reason including, without limitation, if it appears that the pet is sick, injured, in pain, or that its behaviour could jeopardize the health and safety of other pets or our staff.

All dogs must be in good health. No coughing, sneezing, vomiting or diarrhea 48 hours prior to arrival. If your dog has any of these symptoms while he/she is in our care you may be asked to come pick them up.

If your dog has been treated for a contagious illness, we cannot accept your dog for at least 1 weeks after treatment has been completed.

We are happy to administer routine medications for chronic conditions, but we are not equipped to care for sick or recovering dogs.

Arrival Time:

Our latest drop off time for our daycare guests is 11:00 AM. When dogs arrive later than this time, they have a difficult time blending in with the already established pack. It’s like us arriving at the party 4 hours after everyone else....it’s harder to fit into the games. This time also allows them to play before our rest time.

Temperament Testing:

All daycare guests must first pass a temperament test to make sure daycare is right for them. We make this test fun and safe. For dogs that don’t seem ready to enter daycare, we can offer a written evaluation and suggestions to help get them ready.

The test takes about an hour and is free of charge. We do need to book an appointment so that we are all ready to meet our new friend.

We do not require a temperament test for boarding dogs. Although they are welcome to join us in daycare, if they do not enjoy the company of other dogs, we can care for them separately. While in our care, we have a lot of contact with the dogs and do therefore, need to be assured that they will not bite our handlers. Any dog who shows aggression towards the staff will need to be picked up immediately. Please make sure your emergency contact is aware of this.
