Charlene the founder of The Hound Lounge

Charlene Anderson

Charlene started her career in Commercial Real Estate and had her Real Estate License but she knew she had a passion for working with animals, especially dogs. Her love for dogs inspired her to raise, show, and breed Shiloh Shepherds and she even went back to college for the Veterinary Technician program. After that she went back to Georgian College and graduated with honours from the Business Marketing program. The Hound Lounge was her major project in college, which she brought to life in 2015. When not at The Hound Lounge Charlene likes to spend time with her family and her puppy Merlin and read a good book. We are so grateful for what you have built Charlene!

She has been at The Hound Lounge since the very beginning and is excited to combine her love for dogs with her knowledge of Advertising & Marketing. When she is not at The Hound Lounge, Maguire likes spending time with friends and family, going for hikes, and reading a good book. We are excited to see what your future holds at The Hound Lounge!

Ella with dog

Ella Savard

Ella has always had a passion for working with animals. She has attended Georgian College for their Veterinary Technician program and volunteered at Animals Hospitals but decided to branch out and look for other pathways of working with animals. Ella was unable to have a dog due to family members allergies which made her want to make the change into a dog daycare setting. In her free time Ella volunteers at a Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. She even fostered two raccoons named Mikey and Marty! Ella is also an avid reader, knitter, and loves to spend time outdoors with her friends, family, and kitties. As you can tell, Ella loves all things animal related and we’re so pleased to welcome her to the team!

Merlin was born in Ohio but gained his Canadian citizenship at a young age. He has been working at The Hound Lounge since he was 3 months old! He excels at treat and toy testing and has even been promoted to our Senior Greeting Professional. When not at The Hound Lounge Merlin likes to lie in his pool and cuddle his family. Merlin’s favourite part of his day is when he can come to The Hound Lounge and play with all his friends!
